Sustainable living

Rapids Landing has prioritised sustainability since inception in 2007. Surrounded by parklands and river reserves it is an environmentally proactive development which has delivered a comfortable family-focussed, clean, green community.

Preserving and respecting natural resources has included timely water-saving initiatives. Blending architectural design and resource conservation in a modern development has proved sustainable and respectful to the land. This Marri tree standing proud near residential lots is an example of these elements at work.

Rapids Landing Name
The name Rapids Landing emerged in a 1920 government scheme to encourage local farming. Among facilities built at Rapids was a primary school where a young teacher from 1925-27 was John Tonkin who became Premier of WA from 1971-74. The modern Rapids Landing Primary School is appropriately located on Tonkin Boulevard close to the original school site.
